- The feeling of winter – Many see the winter as a dark and depressive time, just an inevitable wait for the next summer. I’m the other way around seeing the winter as probably the best season. When the first snowflakes are falling you feel this euphoria which brings back great memories from earlier winters.
- The stroll – One foot in front of the other. Your eyes are fixed on the ground constantly a few meters ahead of your feet. You’ve reached some sort of robotic rhythm repeating the same movements over and over and over again…
- … It feels like you can go on forever. You’re not always sure where you’re heading. You can’t see the end of it. All you know is that somewhere in the faint distance there’s a reward. A reward worth every single step. That’s what keeps you walking.
- Reaching the top – No matter how you get there, on skis, pushing a bike or carrying a backpack. No matter how high the mountain is, the feeling when reaching the top is always the same. It’s a combination of great relief from the struggle to get you there and reaching a state of complete accomplishment. It feels like being on top of the world when all of your surroundings are beneath you. The more effort the ascend requires the more intense the feeling gets.
- Complete euphoria – Jon after one of the best snowboarding moment in his life – so far. The picture says it all.
- Låktatjåkko – Sweden’s highest mountain station.
